Since childhood, making illustrations and comics has helped me process my experiences and connect with others. In the late 1990s, I moved from Northern California to NYC to study art at Cooper Union. I work primarily with digital drawing and animation, ink, watercolor, colored pencil, paper, textiles and clay. I am also privileged to work with seniors and caregivers as a geriatric care manager and preschoolers as a substitute teacher.

I find inspiration in moss, fungi, forests, fountains, ancient religions, Japanese design, folk art, antique pottery, picture books, the nature of Northern California, the ocean, the invisible work of caregivers, the perspective of people at the end of life and the creative play of young children, among other things.

I live with my partner and two kids in the city of Beacon, NY, in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson River is frozen into chunks of floating ice in the winter and, in warmer seasons, it shimmers in the sunlight. I love to be close to nature and know that we must work hard to protect our natural world and fight climate injustice, which disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable people on our planet. Please donate to the Sierra Club to support this work.
